Fedora: how to go from XFree86 to xorg?

all fixed now.  turns out that somewhere along the line /dev/psaux got 
replaced with /dev/input/mice.

so, it appears to be quite safe to upgrade all the rpms from fc2-test1 
to the latest in devel.
