Fedora: how to go from XFree86 to xorg?

You might be able to update via yum, or apt, if you set up the right 
repository. 
Check http://fedoranews.org/ghenry/apt-fc2/ for a potential repository (that's 
an upgrade from RC1 to FC2 test 1 from which you might extrapolate an answer.

Now how "safe" that might be, who knows?
