Sounds like the problem I had with my java based internet banking
application the input fields rendered fine on Windows and the contents
was within the bounds of the text field but on linux the text within the
input fields seemed too big and off centre. I tried to fix this by
editing /usr/java_xxxx/lib/font.properties and although I could dictate
the fonts to change I couldn't seem to get the alignment of the text
within the widgets to display correctly ....
It's seem that the people who are codign the java apps aren't testing on
linux and therefore are specifying font's and alignments that don't
work.....
I tried to throw this to the jpackage list and although they suggested
editing font.properties (which I did rather inexpertly) I couldn't fix
it....
