Help: "/dev/initrd busy" hangs at kernel config...

It's Mandrake straight out of the box.

The problem seems to be intermittent.

I'll post again when I can correlate it with something else.

Apparently /dev/initrd is used to configure the kernel to suit hardware and
is used when a standard kernel is used in a network with different PC
hardware. (I read somewhere...)
