Thanks for the suggestions. 

The problem was the mouse cursor kept moving to where you touched the monitor with your finger. We solved the problem by editing all the cursors down to single white pixel. 

We also solved the drag and drop problem by using JavaScript.

I'm fairly certain that you can turn off the mouse altogether in X. 
Perhaps removing or commenting out the "Section "InputDevice"" portion 
for the mouse will do it?
