#1: You're using xcdroast when there are plenty of better, easier to use, 
front-ends to cdrecord: k3b, arson, cdbakeoven, even nautilus.

#2: Just what the error says, xcdroast can't open a display. You could execute 
'xhost +localhost' prior to su'ing, or use 'kdesu xcdroast', assuming, of 
course, that you've installed KDE.
