OK, Gentoo is all about choices, you gotcher plain vanilla kernels (straight from kernel.org), you gotcher other kernels (many varieties, including the same ones that RedHat runs). I've never had a single failure on any Gentoo kernel (2.4 o 2.6) in all the years I've been running them.
