Tools  that display menus cause garbage in my case. "setup" is the one that
displays a menu for setting services, printer, ....
I tried redhat-config-printer-tui and it gives the same problem.

I 've tried TERM with vt100,vt220,xterm.

By the way, I am in text mode, an emulator ( Absolute Telnet ) on Windows. I
don't have this problem with RH7.
