Didn't M$ buy a big chunk of Corel?  Was that before or after Corel dropped
the native *nix ports of WordPerfect?

M$ has also killed of several fairly popular *nix accounting packages by
buying the companies then dropping the *nix versions (e.g. RealWorld).

It appears that Wal-Mart has dropped the SuSE versions of their Linux
