Thanks to Joel, Ted and Lllllama for help on turning this off!
I got it turned off, but then I could not get it turned back on, even
though a query with ifconfig told me that the network was up. Had to
reboot to get the network actually fuctioning. I can see that there is
a whole new set of terminal commands that I'm going to have to learn to
work with this.
