Which USB port is in use for your palm pilot

I have forgotten, I guess. Is there a way to see which
USB port has been assigned to your palm pilot, beside
trial and error? Does the assignment change depending on
which physical USB port you plug it into?

I just ask because there must be a way to make jpilot
automatically detect which USB port your pilot is plugged
into. When I find out, I am going to tell this to the
author of jpilot.
