Wierd sounds in Mozilla

I tried it in Konq, and it works fine there.  Under Netscape and Mozilla it sounds like aliens chatting. 
Wouldn't Konq use the same plugin?  What controls sound in the browsers?

I am using Xandros 2.0, by the way.
