Monitor Recommendations

My Sony 17" 200ES died on me in the middle of a Libranet installation.
It's definiitely the monitor; I swapped, and my system and video card 
are fine.

I haven't followed the monitor market for some time.  Any 
recommendations for
a flat screen 17" that is (relatively) cheap and reliable?  LCD's are 
too pricey for me.
Sony is NOT in consideration.
