<OT> One more reason I am glad I don't live in CA

Yea, me too.  Food, lodging, transportation, ammunition, bacteria, 
parasites, all sorts of other neat things.  Met good people of many 
varieties along the way, though.

Must admit that years, observance of life and people (especially of the 
elected variety), two shooting wars (previously mentioned SE Asia 
"vacation", plus round 1 of the Gulf), have convinced me that the 
morality of "government service" is very questionable.  There are many 
things I'm willing to defend, even at the cost of risk to life.  I still 
find coercion of any sort, especially governmental, offensive.
