All states need protection.  Most from states like North Korea and some from 
states like where GHWB's head is.  I see nothing wrong with mandatory service, 
martial or other, as long as it is used to make sure no one dares to attack 
us.  (Some would argue that in the 60's and early 70's that the draft was used 
just to fill body bags.)
