[GenToo] Non-network install

*Sorry to interrupt the political discussion with a continuence of a
linux thread, but...*

Where I went wrong was trying to emerge gentooo-sources. I changed that
to vanilla-sources and the install proceeded from there (after resolving
the issue of the live CD having kernel version 2.4.24 while emerge
wanted to install 2.4.25. #gentoo on IRC had the answer.)
My kernel's compiled, next step is a bootloader and I can attempt to
boot from the newly installed gentoo partition. That's not a project for
tonight, however, sleep beckons.

Thanks, Alma, Tom,
Tim
