<OT> You won't believe this

The controversy over the leaked memos on the Judiciary
Committee looks like just another case of pathetic security
in a Windows network environment. This really is too much.

http://www.hillnews.com/news/030204/memogate.aspx

The relevant passage:

In little time, I became aware that by clicking onto the icon
My Network Places followed, as I recall, by the icon Network
Connections, one could, intentionally or unintentionally, enter
a panel that contained folders belonging to Judiciary staff,
from what I could tell, of both Republicans and Democrats. I
made this discovery quite easily while searching for the
shared network for constituent letter models.

There are lots of things to consider, but, first to
understand, these people who hold high public office
are idiots. But, Mark Twain knew that:

Imagine if I were a member of Congress and an
     idiot. But, I repeat myself.

(Badly paraphrased)

The shame is that most voters are MS idiots, too, and
won't understand how irresponsible/stupid our elected
officials are. I have more security than this on my home
computer network.
