ahh gotcha... after I lost my mail server and rebuilt it with courier-imap I don't have any folders with heaps of stuff in them to test... I suppose I'm just biased against mbox format. 

My usual 'scientific method' is if I don't like something then I blame it. It takes awhile for the facts to come through.
