email trimming - sort of

Thanks. But accessing the attachment it not really the issue. I want to
surgically remove the attachment to some other place. I want to keep the
message because it is a record of the activity. I just do not always
need the attachments. At least not in the e-mail directory. I can put
the attachments on a backup for possible later access. But I would like
to keep the message itself in place.

I dread the day my e-mail directory crashes...
