Laptop install issue

Trying to install Fedora Core 1 on an HP ZE4610 (actually, it's my son trying 
it...)
We're not having much luck, though. FC1 tries to boot but the screen freezes  
and the keyboard locks hard at the point where we're asked if we want to 
verify the disk, or skip to continue with the install.

Ideas?

I didn't find anything at tuxmobile.org, but we'll look again...
