cut-and-paste in KDE xterm

How could I do cut-and-paste under KDE, notably on an xterm?

Clicking the middle button cuts text into the clipboard. but I couldn't 
figure out how to paste onto the xterm. I am using a 5-button M$ mouse.

And I did use google, but couldn't find an answer related to mouse buttons.
