When kernel 2.6 is officially released, I would abandone the COl 3.1
(unless I figure out how to upgrade from kernel 2.4 to 2.6 on COL 3.1).
BTW, I downloaded the firegl driver from www.ati.com (the one for Xfree
4.2) and installed it with `rpm -i --force --nodeps`. The driver worked
after I commented out the "BusID" line in XF86Config-4 generated by its
fglrxconfig command. The fglrxconfig command is just an modified version
of xf86config, seasoned with many firegl questions. I am now using 100Hz
vertical refresh rate now.
