The key question is:  How did you do it?  I tried doing something very similar 
a week or two back and I have a system that kernel panics after the second 
output.  I used the 1.4 CD to get everything going.  I was hoping to get rid 
of the devfs since it is (reportedly) dead and 2.6 doesn't use it.

Tell, tell, inquiring minds want to know.
