Mozilla Calendar problem

I'm having a problem with using Mozilla Calendar from 
http://www.oeone.net/mostafah2/calendar_linux_20040109.xpi
which according to http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/download.html is 
supposed to be for mozilla 1.6 under linux.
It installed OK (at least I think so -- I *did* have to install it as root and 
I was tpold that it istalled OK.) But it doesn't work correctly. When I try 
to create a new Calendar, it does nothing. Another symptom is that the 
calendar dates and Month name do not appear in the right Calendar window 
pane.
I've also tested the Calendar under a newly created user, and the symptoms are 
the same.
I'm using an rpm --rebuild of Fedora Core 2's test 1 SRPM of Mozilla 1.6.
Any ideas? Does anybody have Mozilla's Calendar working under linux? I'm 
really interested in using it to share a webdav'd ical file between my 
Mozilla 1.6 installs at work (WinXP) and home (FC1.)
