/var/spool/mail/?
I use uw-imap, keeping mail in /var/spool/mail/username, readable
locally by mutt.
Both mozilla mail and kmail move the mail out of
/var/spool/mail/username to /home/username/mbox.
Afterward, either can read it, as can mutt if I point it to
/home/username/mbox (mutt -f mbox).
This is on a libranet (debian) system using postfix.
