I would have to agree.  I started this portion of the thread with a
reference to Saturn. My 98 SL2 is one of the most reliable cars I ever
purchased.  Someone else wrote disparaging remarks about Plymouth (God
rest their souls).  I owned a Plymouth Sundance that I drove to the 160K
mark before showing major signs of wear.  My Dodge Caravan also made
it to 160k.  Both vehicles needed a clutch at about 120K.  So don't give
me that malarky that American manufactures can't make good cars.  This
may have been true in the 1970's, but it's certainly not true since the
late 1980's.  The only reason I switched away from Chrysler products was
their decision to stop producing 5-speeds on their mid-sized line.  I'm
one of those people who believes that you should have to produce a
handicapped driver plate to buy an automatic transmission <g>.  Of
course my wife does not agree, but then that's another story.
