xandros-debian compatability

anybody here running xandros?

reason i ask is that i have a box of the new version, unopened, that i
might be interested in trying out, in that it's debian-based and might
therefore provide entree into debian.

i'm not much interested, though, in some of the "improvements" xandros
has made to kde.

what i'm trying to figure out is whether it's possible to install and
configure xandros, then go to the normal debian tree to get the stuff i
want, and stick to debian thereafter for purposes of grabbing software.

anybody know if this would work?

also -- anybody know if there is *any* source *anywhere* for the last
version of the corel suite? while i'm not desperate to have word
perfect, the portovers of corel draw and the like would be much to my
liking, even if they're all wined up.
