SO refusing to start

Joel: by any chance did you change any settings in tools >options 
 >memory: Graphics cache?
I did following a tip posted on another newsgoup (it reportedly speeds 
up OO's start up) and SO6
would not restart.  However, after a cold reboot it did return to life.
