Wine guru

  Has anyone gotten wine to work. All kinds of problems here. Why can't root change
fake_windows chmod or users group & owner?  wine also gives me the error
"L"c:\\Windows" for L"windows" directory does not exist 

   Now if the .wine/fake_windows is drwxr--r-- how do I see what is in there or put
any M$ programs in there.  any help is appreciated here
