Even Panama has "Winter".  Gringos call it the rainy season.  It's the
most pleasant time of year as far as I'm concerned.  Summer, aka the dry
season, is hot and windy (think sirocco, though it's not called that
here).  Rainy season is the growing season.  Little grows in summer here
- -- the ignorant Panamanians use this time to do the burn portion of
thrash and burn farming (yes, it's still practiced here -- sure wish
they'd outlaw it).
