grub.conf configuration

I see nothing wrong with this, so long as root, kernel & initrd are where you 
say they are. Remember, in grub syntax, (hd0,0) refers to /dev/hda1. Are your 
kernel & initrd images in the root (/) directory of /dev/hda1?
