The ``corporate interests'' and government are generally puppets of the
money interests behind them. For a better understanding of how things
really work try reading (sorry no ISBNs as I'm about 3,000 miles from my
bookshelves):
Murray N. Rothbard (available on-line www.mises.org)
History of Money and Banking in the U.S.
America's Great Depression
Panic of 1819
What Has the Government Done With Your Money
Brooks Adams (grandson of John Quincy Adams)
Law of Civiization and Decay
Carroll Quigley
Tragedy and Hope -- a history of the world in our time
Anglo-American Establishment
