CD/DVD Burners - SCSI vs IDE

I really do not know about one being better than the other. However I have had
Pioneer AO4 and now an AO6 and AFAIAC the pioneer does all I ever want.
The software that is available is 90% for windows, little or nothing for 
linux at the moment.
