As I noted earlier, the amount of time you run memtest86 is irrelevant.
The number of full passes is what determines how much of the test suite,
and therefore how much of your RAM was fully tested.

Definitely. Remember the CPU has its own cache, which is nothing more
than memory that is directly connected to the CPU. I've seen the cache on
CPUs go bad on occasion.
