was safe-travel assured... and even then we still have more automobile 
accidents than airplane accident deaths... and I would imagine the auto- 
to space- accidents are in a similiar comparison pattern.

Stop talking about danger.  Just ask for volunteers.  I would place bets 
on the availability of many individuals who would be willing to take the 
risk... some of them are called Astronauts.
