If what Mike suggests doesn't work then rename ~/.kde (or whatever it's
called - Caldera called it .kde2). Clean out /tmp. Then restart KDE
and let it build a new ~/.kde. You then can copy app settings from the
old ~/.kde so you don't have to set up mail,etc again.
I haven't used KDE since 2.2.x and that's one reason I gave up on it.
It was big and it had these mysterious hickups. The solution given was
to do as I outlined above. Some of us joked on the mail lists that we
would write keystroke macros to do this! I got tired of rebuilding my
~/.kde2 directory periodically - if I want that kind of stuff I'll go to
my Windows machine <G>. When I changed distros I used xfce4 and it
works great!
