Linksys wireless router/wap update

Just a few items of interest.

I paid $70 for a combined router/wap at Best Buy last
week(Linksys WRT54G). They had the wap only device for sale
for the same price. I told the salesman that was dumb. Now,
they want $99 for the wap alone and the WRT54G is $80 and
has a $10 rebate. Go figure.

All the WRT54G's were sold out.

Leider muss ich sagen, my unit has stopped working
properly. It still gives a strong signal but constantly
drops the connection with my wireless laptop, which
reverts to the XP private IP, and stopped assigning IP's
and refused to let me erase the current DHCP clients.

This reversion of the IP number occurs even though I have
the DHCP server feature turned off on the router and have
my linux DHCP server assigning addresses.

Hooking my laptop backup with a cable solves these
problems.

All in all not too good. The only thing that might account
for this is letting the unit lie on a blanket which blocked
the cooling ports on the bottom. It got hot. I'll let
it cool for a day and see if it starts working before I
give up.
