I used to love playing military board games when I was *much* younger!
The appeal of that genre quickly evaporated once I got drafted into the
Army. Nothing cures the urge to be an "armchair general" than lying in a
jungle in the middle of a monsoon, waiting to spring an ambush while
swarms of mosquitos feast on your butt and thighs (no, I don't know why
they prefer those parts of the anatomy, and yes, I was wearing pants).
Still, I loved Doom when it came out -- not least because you could keep
running at a rapid pace and not get tired or sweaty, shoot monsters
without your shoulder hurting from the recoil, or your arms getting
really tired.

Happy New Year !
