Besides what others have told you about the PS, I had a MB go bad a couple of 
weeks ago.  Was atrtempting to put in a new DDR and I guess I got it a bit 
off.  Turned the computer on and something smoked.

I thought the same as you, PS had gone.  Swapped PS with another computer, 
nothing changed.

I finally replaced the MB and everything is fine again, including the DDR I 
was trying to install in the first place.

Symptoms were the same.  Attempting to turn on the machine would produce no 
action with the switch.
