By shutdown, you mean it wasn't powered on, or it shutdown gracefully, and
wouldn't power back up again?

If it just wasn't powered on this morning, then you definitely have got a
case of hardware failure.  My money would be on the PSU first, however
I've seen cases where a bad memory module could cause this too.  If you've
got more than 1, try swapping them out, so that you only have 1 in the
mobo at a time, and see if it powers up.
