log_clean

I get continual messages in root's mail that log_clean wasn't found.
These come from cron, and the offending line is in /etc/crontab:

========================================================================
# /etc/crontab: system-wide crontab
# Unlike any other crontab you don't have to run the `crontab'
# command to install the new version when you edit this file.
# This file also has a username field, that none of the other crontabs do.

SHELL=/bin/sh
PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin

# m h dom mon dow user command
25 6  * * * root  test -e /usr/sbin/anacron || run-parts --report /etc/cron.daily
47 6  * * 7 root  test -e /usr/sbin/anacron || run-parts --report /etc/cron.weekly
52 6  1 * * root  test -e /usr/sbin/anacron || run-parts --report /etc/cron.monthly
#

08 *  * * * root  /usr/bin/log_clean  <----The odd entry

=========================================================================================

I include the entire file just to show how odd this entry looks, like
some silly add on. Unlike most other commands in these files, no attempt
is made to test if log_clean exists before it is run. In other words,
this looks like amateur work.

I am running a debian system, lindows. I did a google search, and found
one short thread in Spanish about this problem, which had no particular
solution. The problem there was also in a debian system.

Does anyone know what the log_clean script is supposed to do, and where
it can be found?

Thanks,

Joel
