The text-mode installer starts up just fine. It does a couple of intro
screens, asks for keyboard type, then does "scanning for disks" but
comes up with an error "Unable to open /dev/sda - unrecognised disk
label." I click 'ok', then it says "No partitionable disk drives have
been detected. Please make sure that your disk controller(s) have been
detected." I click ok. Then I'm in a loop at 'Partition and layout
drives' but can never do 'Setup drives' as it always comes back to the
above errors.

Somehow it's not recognizing the scsi emulation within vmware, I
suppose. Tried the install without specifying 'scsi' at the install
prompt, but it says basically same thing about hda.

I'd really like to try the latest Libranet version 2.8.1 but I don't
have a copy and not ready to plunk the $ until I'm convinced it's a keeper.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Michael
