Installing Libranet in VMware ?

It's been a while since I installed Lib 2.7, but its installer is text 
until after X is configured.
(The download version may be a bit different from the original.)  Does 
Lib 2.7's installer just not boot up, or does it hang at some point, 
e.g. configuring X?
