I've been successfully using one of these for years.

You need a frammis bit which then allows you to screw it into the middle 
of your DSL modem. There might be some sparks and sizzling noises but 
those can be ignored. Be sure to ground yourself very, very well while 
performing this installation.

Once I got it installed, mine has given hours of wonderful service.
