The problem seems to be hardware specific and I am guessing its the
motherboard that the problem in one case.

First up my problem occurs directly after install of 9.2 and on boot.
It stops booting at bringing up inbuilt ieee1394, so I disable this in bios.
It then fails at my 3Com inbuilt lan, again disable in bios; so it the fails
at bringing up the localhost loop.

The old 9.1 boot fine, so it seems that 9.2 does not like my motherboard but
that also seems peculiar unless a great deal has changed since 9.1.

Hardware: Asus A7X8N delux, XP2600, 1 gig Extreme Corsair ddr

Feedback please.

My Son is up from Sydney, but has also had a problem with booting 9.1 and 9.2
after a trouble free install. He cannot boot with a second drive which is sata
enabled onboard, disabled it boots ok. Now I seem to remember last year or
early this year I also installed an sata drive and had a problem booting.
However I cannot remember what it was I did to fix the problem. I now boot in
9.1 with the sata enable without any problems. It does hesitate and say the
dma is disabled, his freezes at this stage.

motherboard: Gigabyte GA-7N400Pro2, extreme ddr ram 500mb amd xp2800.

Another friend with a different motherboard, think its an msi, which I
despise! installed 9.2 and has experienced no problems at all except with
crossover 1.2 plugin not being able to use QuickTime. However I do believe
that linux can install a quicktime that uses sorensen to view online tarilers
at apple.com
