Hello list,
I'm rumming MDK 9.2, Kernel 2.4.22, and can't control the volume of my
soundcard. Its either on (100 %) or off. I have tried a lot of mixers; only
reaction is silence, when i hit mute.
Drakeconf identifies it as:
"Hersteller: ?Intel Corp.
Alternate drivers: ?ali5455:i810_audio:nvaudio
Bus: ?PCI
Bus: ?8086:24d5:1462:120
Standort auf dem Bus: ?0:1f:5
Description: ?82801EB AC'97 Audio
Modul: ?snd-intel8x0
Media class: ?MULTIMEDIA_AUDIO"
I tried the alternative drivers; it makes no difference.
Starting kmix from commandline:
"ERROR: Kmix: No mixer found
Make sure that your soundcard is installed and the driver loaded."
My modules.conf:
"probeall scsi_hostadapter ide-scsi
probeall usb-interface usb-uhci ehci-hcd
alias ieee1394-controller ohci1394
alias eth0 via-rhine
above snd-intel8x0 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-slot-0 snd-intel8x0
alias snd-card-1 snd-intel8x0"
I have inserted the last line because of the following bootmessages:

?alsactl?:
