Watch out for Acer 1356LC notebooks. Seems the power management is not to
SUSE 9's liking. The install goes fine. But, then using the computer, it
will freeze within 5 minutes. I did an non-ACPI (choose your preferred order
on the last 4 letters there), and got further. Except power management does
not woek. It is an Athlon chip and does not get needed power management when
the OS is installed this way. I also discovered what an ACPI keyboard is.
Very odd. I see that there is an update to the kernel with some ACPI fixes.
Maybe that will help.
