alas, no. the snowplow guy finally showed up and i did it in studio via
bird to l.a., which was cool in itself. the stuff i did here worked
very well but for the punyness of the microphone. i have an rca 77dx
(the mic on letterman's and larry king's desks), but i could not find
an adapter for the 1/4" phono plug, so i had to use a cheapish
condenser mic or an ev teevee mic that's just a 635 that's
shock-wrapped, and both of those are very, very bad at a lot of voice
stuff.
but it appears that having the ability to do it here will be handy as
time unfolds, so the stuff i learned yesterday was a very good start to
figuring all this stuff out.
