Are these multiple systems servers? Debian stable would be good. Debian
updates are a breeze, both locally and remotely. For the desktop, if you
pick up one of the debian based distros (Libranet comes to mind, being
fully debian compatible) you will have easier admin and install, and
still easy updates. Also, the 'unstable' branch is quite up to date.
