My last experience with SuSE tech support was with 7.1. I too had
problems with kinternet (excessively long connect time, excessively
quick involuntary disconnects.) I submitted my registration number and
wrote up my complaint in German, hoping to speed things up. I
eventually got a reply, which provided no relief. I was neither
impressed nor satisfied by the experience. I've been spoiled by
Libranet. Tech support e-mails are answered usually within 24 hours,
and by one of the programmers. Most problems however are solved more
quickly by the users' forum. I suspect the same applies to the SuSE
users' forum (haven't used it in ages, so I can't judge.) I do give
SuSE credit for timely posting of FAQ solutions.

I buy SuSE occasionally. My first succesful Linux installation was with
6.1, and I really liked 6.4. I've been disappointed by subsequent
releases though. I'll probably buy a copy of 9.0, if for no other
reason than to get its partition utility.
The paper documentation is very good.
